Day 01: Chennai Arrival
Welcome to 10 Nights 11 Days Religious South India Tour. After arriving at the Chennai Airport you will be received by our representative, who will escort you to the hotel. After checking in the hotel get fresh and take some rest, then later visit Arignar Anna Zoological Park, Government Museum, DakshinaChitra and Marina Beach . Day 02: Chennai
After breakfast proceed for a local tour of the City. Chennai, on the Bay of Bengal in eastern India, is the capital of the state of Tamil Nadu. The city is home to Fort St. George, built in 1644 and now a museum showcasing the city’s roots as a British military garrison and East India Company trading outpost, when it was called Madras. Religious sites include Kapaleeshwarar Temple, adorned with carved and painted gods, and St. Mary’s, a 17th-century Anglican church. Visit Fort St. George, St. Mary’s Church, Kapaliswara Temple, Valluvar Kottam, Vivekanandar Illam and Sri Parthasarathy Temple. Have dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 03: Chennai – Kanchipuram – Mamallapuram
After breakfast proceed to Kanchipuram visit Ekambeshwara temple, Varadaraja Temple and Kailasanatha Temple and then you can visit The Silk Weaving Factory and proceed towards Mahabalipuram . Check in at the hotel. Proceed to explore the magnificent monuments, temples and caves created by Pallavas. Take a trip to Monolithic Rathas and the world’s largest bas relief- Krishna Mandapam, which measures 27m x 9m. Tourists can find images of Gods and demi-Gods, birds and many more objects, curved out in the whale-shaped rock. Have dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 04: Mamallapuram – Pondicherry
After breakfast drive to Pondichery. Pondicherry was a French colonial settlement in India until 1954, now it is a Union Territory town bounded by the southeastern Tamil Nadu state. Its French legacy is preserved in its French Quarter, with tree-lined streets, mustard-colored colonial villas and chic boutiques. You can visit Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Immaculate Conception Cathedral, Rock Beach, Sri Aurobindo Ashram. After a local tour of the city you’re free to relax at Pondicherry beaches. Have dinner and rest for the night.
Day 05: Pondicherry – Chidambaram
Post breakfast proceed to Chidambaram, check in at the hotel. Later visit Thillai Nataraja Temple, Thillai Kali Temple. In the evening you’re free to relax at the hotel. Have dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 06: Chidambaram – Thanjavur – Trichy
After breakfast at hotel proceed to Thanjavur. Thanjavur is an important center of South Indian religion, art, and architecture. Visit Brihadeeswarar Temple, Great Living Chola Temples, Thanjavur Maratha Palace, Sivaganga Park and proceed to Tirchy. Visit Ranganathaswamy Temple, Ucchi Pillayar Temple, Tiruchirapalli Rock Fort. Day 07: Trichy – Rameshwaram
Post breakfast proceed to Rameshwaram. A sacred pilgrimage destination for Hindus, it is known for its enchanting scenic beauty. After reaching your destination check in to the hotel. Visit the famous Ramanathaswamy Temple located close to sea on the eastern side of the island. Kothandaraswamy Temple & Dhanushkodi ,Adam’s Bridge, Dhanushkodi Beach. Stay overnight at your hotel.
Day 08: Rameshwaram –Madurai
After breakfast proceed to Madurai. Madurai is an energetic, ancient city on the Vaigai River in the South Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Its skyline is dominated by the 14 colorful gopurams (gateway towers) of Meenakshi Amman Temple. Covered in bright carvings of Hindu gods, the Dravidian-style temple is a major pilgrimage site. Millions attend the processions and ceremonies of April’s Chithirai Festival celebrating Meenakshi and Lord Vishnu. Check in to the hotel after reaching your destination. Day 09: Madurai
Post breakfast visit Thirumalai Nayakkar Mahal– a 17th-century palace erected in 1636 AD by King Thirumalai Nayak, a king of Madurai’s Nayaka dynasty who ruled Madurai from 1623–59, in the city of Madurai, India. Then visit Meenakshi Amman Temple, Gandhi Memorial Museum, Koodal Azhagar Temple, Thirupparamkunram Murugan Temple. In the evening you’re free to relax. Have dinner and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 10: Madurai – Kanyakumari
On day tenth of your Religious South India Tour, after breakfast proceed to Kanyakumari. The town was known as Cape Comorin during British rule and is popular for its beautiful sunrises and sunsets over the ocean. It’s also a noted pilgrimage site thanks to its Bagavathi Amman Temple, dedicated to a consort of Shiva, and visit Our Lady of Ransom Church, a center of Indian Catholicism. Some of the best places to explore are like Amman Temples, Padmanabhapuram Palace Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Mahatma Gandhi Memorial, Thiruvalluvar Statue.
